Late-game gold piles up with no real purpose—solo players (and co-op) end up with mountains of it after maxing basic unlocks, leading to no incentive to keep grinding patrons/quests/animals. Add a suite of meaningful gold sinks through the merchant and tavern progression to make wealth feel useful and extend replayability:

  • Tavern Space Expansions & Cosmetic Skins/Designs: Pay escalating gold costs (e.g., 5k–50k+) to the merchant for permanent additions like extra rooms/floors (bigger kitchen, storage, second-floor inn rooms from recent updates), outdoor patios, or modular expansions. Include cosmetic overhauls (e.g., stone/wood/rustic themes for exterior/interior, recolored furniture, custom tavern signs) as purchasable skins—pure vanity gold sink for personalization.

  • Additional Farming Plots & Expandable Animal Pens: Unlock/buy more garden plots (beyond Scary's base) and larger/merged paddocks (e.g., upgrade small pens to hold 20+ chickens/pigs) via gold payments to merchant or builder NPC. This scales self-sufficiency for crops/meat/eggs without caps hitting too soon.

  • Crafting Resource Expansions: Merchant sells packs of new wood types (oak/pine for varied planks/furniture), ore nodes/seeds (iron/copper for future blacksmithing), and more crops/wild variants (e.g., forageable wild barley seeds to plant your own endless supply—no more merchant dependency for basics).

  • Merchant Repair Service: For tools (hoe, watering can, bucket, axe) with poor durability—pay 200–500 gold (scaling with tool tier) to fully repair instead of rebuying new ones every few uses. (Complements grindstone for kitchen gear; no new station needed.)

These sinks reward continued play (more space = more owls/stations/tables; better resources = self-crafting/upgrades), prevent infinite money, and enhance progression without gating core fun.
