I like the ideas where you have to beat the cave boss to be able to farm mushrooms…

Great idea! I also think a cellar would be the perfect place to put a mushroom farm. You could use it as storage for wine and beer and then have an extra room for cultivating mushrooms in a cold and dark environment.
