To help improve player experiences in Ale & Tale and reduce the potential for griefing, we really need some anti-griefing tools. Below are some ideas for settings and options that players could use to better control their taverns and interactions with others:
These toggles could give hosts control over what other players are able to do within their taverns:
Toggle for Gold Spending
Allows the host to decide whether other players can spend their tavernβs gold.
Toggle for Moving/Removing Furniture
Prevents others from accidentally (or intentionally) messing with decorations/furniture.
Toggle for Completing Quests/Progression
Grants or restricts permission for other players to progress quests or tasks within the shared space.
Toggle for Opening/Closing the Tavern
Controls whether other players can open or close the tavern without hosts permission.
Hosts could have the option to create lobbies with a password. Only those who have the password could join, providing an extra layer of security for private tavern sessions.
Not everyone wants to add other players onto their friends list so this adds a layer of accessiblity to multiplayer.
Hosts would have the ability to kick or ban disruptive players from their lobby.
Banned players would be prevented from rejoining the session, ensuring a grief-free environment for everyone else.
